Gym Class Heroes released “Useless” on November 6, 2026, a 2:26 single that sends Travie McCoy back to the Lower East Side nightlife of the 2000s, before smartphones got into every room. He names the places too, with Max Fish, Pianos and Katz’s Delicatessen all showing up as he revisits those years.
The band made the track with Asa Taccone of Electric Guest, and it previews their forthcoming fifth studio album. It also follows “Universal Language,” the song that gave them their first new music in about 15 years, so this era is starting to take real shape.
“Useless” feels like flipping through old photos on the way to a bar that might not be there anymore. It is warm, loose, and a little wistful, and McCoy sounds like someone who knows exactly how much those nights shaped him.
“It was a huge turning point in my life that I’ll never forget.” – Travie McCoy
The band have been on the road with Lupe Fiasco and B.o.B on the Back To Basics tour, with Warped Tour in November and Sonic Temple in Ohio in May 2027 on the calendar. For a group that spent so long away, the run back keeps getting more fun to watch.
