Will Swinton released “You’ll Always Be Mine” on August 28, 2026 through 10K Projects and Capitol Records, days after he and his band finished his headlining North American tour. He had already played it at Lollapalooza, his first US festival, before anyone could stream it. It sounds like a goodbye that has been decided and not yet acted on.
The New Zealand singer built it with Paul Phamous and Ethan Schneiderman, the same pair behind his recent run. It opens on a guitar riff and a soft vocal, then climbs into a driving four-four stomp with thrumming bass underneath it. Two minutes and twenty-one seconds, start to finish. It moves fast because the feeling it is describing does.
His last two singles were written from inside the damage. “Only One” was the wanting. “Hate My Guts” was the wreckage. This one carries more hope than hurt, and the shift lands in the vocal before it lands in the lyric.
He has spent 2026 collecting the kind of wins that are difficult to plan for. Kelly Clarkson covered his song “Flames” on her show. He opened the Australian leg of Machine Gun Kelly’s lost americana tour and sang “papercuts” alongside him. He turns up in the Summer 2026 issue of Wonderland Magazine, guest edited by Miley Cyrus. There is no EP or album announced, though he has said he has more songs banked than he has released.
“I spent the whole of 2025 finding a sound that I love, and I’m excited to release it into the world.” – Will Swinton
