RÜFÜS DU SOL Sell Out Two Life Changing Nights At The Gorge Amphitheatre

The RÜFÜS DU SOL North America 2026 tour kicked off with two sold-out nights at the number one venue in the world. The Gorge Amphitheatre is already a perspective-shifting place on its own, three hours outside Seattle, perched above the Columbia River with canyon walls stretching out in every direction. But when you add the GRAMMY-nominated Australian trio RÜFÜS DU SOL into that setting, the whole thing becomes something else entirely. I am still buzzing from the moments shared in unison with 27,500 fellow RÜFÜS lovers across both nights.

The first walk up to the ridge never really leaves you. You come over that hill, the stage appears below, the river cuts through the canyon, and the scale of it all hits you at once. It makes you feel small in the best possible way. That feeling only deepened once the music started. Night one had that extra charge to it, that sense of discovery and emotional weight that can only happen the first time. Both nights were incredible, but Friday felt life-changing.

Maribou State kicked off both evenings and could not have been a better fit. Their live band brought a warm, textured energy that eased everyone into the night without ever feeling small. It was patient, rich, and transportive. They did exactly what a great opener should do, they set the mood, widened the room, and made the headliner feel even bigger once it was time.

A huge portion of the weekend was anchored by Inhale / Exhale, and the new material sounded massive in that setting. “The Life” came in with real force. “Lately,” “Breathe,” and “Levitating” all proved just how naturally this new album lives on a stage that big. But “Music Is Better” completely stole the show. It had that immediate, connective pull that turned into the clear anthem of the weekend.

And somehow, that song kept going long after the set ended. Back at the campground on Saturday night, with the cold rolling in and everyone bundled up, “Music Is Better” became this incredible bonding moment across the camps. About one hundred strangers singing together in the dark, all on the same wavelength, all trying to hold onto the feeling a little longer. That was one of the most beautiful parts of the whole weekend.

The sunsets were also peak moments both nights. At The Gorge, sunset is not just pretty, it becomes part of the show whether you want it to or not. The sky starts changing, the light hits the canyon walls differently, and suddenly the whole place feels suspended in time. You could feel the crowd taking it in together. That kind of setting does not just frame the music, it changes how you hear it.

Of the older songs, “On My Knees” felt huge under that open sky, the bassline bouncing off the rocks like thunder. But “Innerbloom” was the clear emotional high point of both nights. There are some songs that feel made for a venue like The Gorge, and that is one of them. As it stretched out over the canyon, the whole crowd seemed to breathe together. It felt sacred. It felt endless. It felt like one of those rare live moments that people spend years trying to explain and never fully can.

What made these two nights so unforgettable was not just the setlist or the scenery, although both were unreal. It was the way everything aligned, the sunsets, the cold air, the river, the campground, the strangers becoming friends, the new songs finding their place, and the old songs somehow hitting even harder than before. RÜFÜS DU SOL did not just play The Gorge. They let the venue become part of their story. And for everyone lucky enough to be there, I do not think we will ever be the same.
