The Rolling Stones released the official video for “Mr Charm” on October 1, 2026, and they handed the whole thing to Alexander Skarsgård. Directed by Henry Scholfield and shot in Palmdale, California, the clip drops the Golden Globe winner into a sweaty desert-highway diner, mostly shirtless and dancing, while the band stay out of frame entirely. The song is the latest single from Foreign Tongues, the album they put out July 10 on Capitol Records.
Skarsgård is the newest name in a pretty wild casting run for this era. Anya Taylor-Joy and Charles Melton showed up for “Jealous Lover”, Odessa A’zion carried “In The Stars”, and now the Succession and Big Little Lies actor gets his turn. Every one of these videos treats the Stones like a band with nothing left to prove and a lot of fun left to have.
Mick Jagger told Variety “It’s connected with dance,” and you can hear it right away. Steve Jordan‘s drum groove runs the whole song, Steve Winwood fills the corners with organ, and the riff started on Jagger’s own guitar demo before Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood stacked their parts on top. Lyrically it’s a side-eye at the state of the world, asking who you can really trust and naming Boeing, NASA and Elon Musk along the way. Wood says the band wanted to “keep the smile on people’s faces” while staying honest about “that sickness in the land,” and that balance is exactly how it feels. Loose, nosy, and very Stones.
The streaming single also comes with “Bad Luck Hideaway”, a Jagger and Richards duet produced by Andrew Watt that had never been on streaming before. Charlie Watts plays drums on it, recorded at the British Grove sessions, and hearing him on a fresh Stones release feels like a small, warm gift for anyone who has followed this band for decades.
