ORIGIN Los Angeles opens in Downtown LA’s Arts District on October 9 and 10, 2026, and the grand opening runs across both days. MRAK takes the Friday night. Liva K and Malive run the Saturday daytime, then Kölsch closes it out that night. The room sits at 613/617 Imperial Street, a new independent venue built specifically for electronic music.
The people behind it have been throwing parties in this city for years. Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar built SBCLTR and Minimal Effort, and The Maze and Brunch Electronik came out of the same camp. What they have put together this time is a permanent room rather than a one-night build, and it shows in the spec. Marc Dizon handled the design, carrying over from Brooklyn Mirage and Output in New York. The sound is a custom analog KV2 system tuned for the space, with a separate rig engineered for the outdoor side. It feels like a venue built by people who got tired of renting.
The programming splits by night. Fridays lean on top-tier and independent electronic bookings, and Saturdays alternate between daytime outdoor sessions and late-night house and techno. Quarterly Arts District parties sit on top of that, and the first is THE MAZE on October 31, 2026, moving over after two sold-out years at Union Station with The Blaze live, an Arcade Fire DJ set, and Claude VonStroke. Tickets for that one are already on sale.
MRAK is the booking that sets the tone for opening night. It is the solo project of Carmine Conte, one half of Tale Of Us and a co-founder of Afterlife, which tells you what kind of room this wants to be. Kölsch on the Saturday night says the same thing from another angle. For a first weekend, ORIGIN is aiming squarely at the lane of LA nightlife that takes the music seriously.
