FISHER and LAUREL released “Staring At The Sun” on October 16, 2026 through Catch & Release, FISHER’s own label. It is the Australian DJ and producer’s fourth single of the year, and it pairs his club instincts with LAUREL’s moody, close-up vocal for just over three minutes of house built for golden hour.
FISHER has been on a serious run in 2026. “Rain” opened his year in February, “Favour” with Tones And I went all the way to #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, and “What A Life” with Florence Arman carried him through the summer. LAUREL has her own big chapter lined up too, with her third album Crying on the Tennis Court due January 22, 2027 via 3 Vultures Records, written, recorded and produced entirely by her.
The artwork tells you a lot about where this one lives: a pink stone staircase climbing toward a huge orange sun over the sea. “Staring At The Sun” feels like that picture in motion. Warm, hazy, and a little bittersweet, it has the bounce FISHER always brings with a softer, more wistful glow on top. It is the kind of track that sounds best with the sun going down and the night still wide open.
