Alex Warren released WILDCHILD on August 28, 2026 through Atlantic Records, thirteen tracks deep and standing as the second full-length of his run. The name is not a pose. It is the thing his father called him, and he liked it enough to have it put on his skin.

Adam Yaron handles the bulk of the production, and the record saves two of its most interesting names for the ends. Nile Rodgers turns up on opener “Emerald Eyes”, which is exactly the sort of move that makes you sit forward, and John Mayer plays on the closing title track. Between them sits the version of Warren people have been circling all year, the one who writes about grief and repair without sanding the edges off either. It sounds like a record made by someone who stopped trying to explain himself and just said it.
The road here was long and well signposted. “Fever Dream” landed February 26, 2026, “Fine Place to Die” followed on April 30, 2026, “Passenger” arrived June 5, 2026 alongside the album announcement, and “Rescuer” closed the run on August 7, 2026. Four singles, one tattoo, and a follow-up to 2025’s You’ll Be Alright, Kid that feels like the chapter where the kid stops being spoken to and starts doing the talking.
