Zerb and Khalid sent “Faded Eyes” back out on November 6, 2026 with FADED EYES : REFRESHED, a three-track package on TH3RD BRAIN that puts new remixes from Sid Koans and Moonphazes next to the original. The song only arrived on August 14, and it already feels ready for a second life after dark.
REFRESHED is a proper series for Zerb at this point. MWAKI: REFRESHED. ADDICTED: REFRESHED. KUMBAYA: REFRESHED. If It’s Not Love: REFRESHED in June. Each one hands a record to a new set of producers and lets it run somewhere the original never went, and “Faded Eyes” was always going to get its turn.
Both remixes stretch the song well past the original’s 2:58, with Sid Koans at 3:40 and Moonphazes at 3:38, and that extra room is exactly what a DJ wants from a Khalid vocal. Moonphazes comes out of melodic house and techno, the lane behind a co-remix of “Skip” by Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello with RYCH DSYGNR. It feels like a smart pairing for a song this hazy, moody, and built around late-night feeling.
The original came together the old-fashioned way. Zerb sent Khalid an existing track, Khalid suggested they get in the studio and start fresh, and the two wrote it from scratch before playing it for friends over FaceTime. That same looseness is what makes it such good remix material, and two new versions feel like the natural next chapter for a record that started as a conversation.
