OneRepublic released “Pay That Toll” on August 28, 2026 through BMG, landing with a visualizer attached. It is built on the oldest idea in the book, which is that going fast is fun right up until the bill turns up, and the band play it as a chase rather than a warning.
The record moves like a group who have spent the year on stages the size of small towns. Big open chords, a chorus that gets to the point early, and enough lift in the back half to carry a stadium singing it back. It feels like the last warm night of the summer, the one where everybody stays out too late on purpose. Punchy, bright, and gone before it can overstay.
The timing is deliberate. OneRepublic headline the Fireworks Finale at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with the LA Philharmonic on September 11 and 12, 2026 at 8pm, an end-of-summer show that closes out the Bowl’s season under the venue’s fireworks. It caps a year that has already run through Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and China, produced “Need Your Love” in April 2026 and “In Your Eyes” with Alesso in June 2026, and put their triple platinum debut Dreaming Out Loud on vinyl for the first time as a deluxe edition.
