Megan Moroney Reaches New Heights With Third Studio Album ‘Cloud 9’

Megan Moroney has officially entered her arena era. Her third studio album, Cloud 9, finds the Georgia songwriter sounding sharper, more confident, and fully comfortable letting happiness exist beside the heartbreak.

The 15-track album still carries the emotional honesty that built her “emo cowgirl” world. This time, there is more light coming through. Songs like “6 Months Later,” “Medicine,” and the title track balance clever writing with melodies that stick around. Guest appearances from Kacey Musgraves and Ed Sheeran add extra color without pulling Moroney away from her own voice.

That growth is showing up in a major way. Cloud 9 became Moroney’s first album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and she is taking it into arenas across North America and Europe. The 49-date run stretches from late May through October, with multiple nights added in cities including Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Glasgow.

Moroney has always known how to make a sad line feel strangely comforting. On Cloud 9, she proves she can sound just as convincing when life starts going right.
