Dominic Fike has a way of making a song feel loose around the edges while still landing exactly where it should. “Babydoll” and “White Keys” now sit together as a two-track release, and the pairing feels strangely natural. “Babydoll,” originally part of Don’t Forget About Me, Demos, has found a massive second life, while “White Keys” carries that same restless charm into something newer.
“Babydoll” is all nervous motion and emotional static. “White Keys” feels more reflective, touching on young love, ambition, and the strange distance that grows between who you were and who you are becoming. Together, they capture two sides of Fike’s appeal, impulsive and nostalgic, messy and melodic.
There is no grand statement needed here. Just two songs with enough personality to keep pulling you back in.
