Martin Garrix and U2 have finally released “Fireflies,” a collaboration that had been quietly taking shape for six years. The song grabs and doesn’t let go. It’s a full body synchronicity. The track brings all four members of U2 into Garrix’s world for the first time, pairing Bono’s unmistakable voice and the band’s sweeping rock presence with Garrix’s polished electronic sound design.
The song made its live debut during Garrix’s headline set at Tomorrowland, where The Edge joined him onstage for the reveal. That moment gave the record the kind of entrance it deserved. Huge crowd, bright lights, and a melody built to carry far beyond the festival grounds.
“Fireflies” also continues a creative relationship that already includes “We Are The People” and Garrix’s work on U2’s “Scars.” Still, this feels like a bigger meeting point.
