Jelly Roll Releases “Hands Up” During Heavy Personal Chapter + Tour Dates

Jelly Roll is opening the door to a new song, and the timing gives it even more weight. The Grammy-winning country star recently teased the uplifting, gospel-leaning track on social media through a reel that traced his weight-loss journey from the earliest days to where he is now, turning the preview into something that felt personal before the song even fully arrived.

That lands differently right now. He is in the middle of a major shift in his personal life, and the new music seems to carry some of that same spirit of reflection, rebuilding, and pushing forward. It feels hopeful, but not lightweight.

The release also comes as Jelly Roll closes out a packed stretch on the road. He is set to wrap The Little Ass Shed Tour on July 22 in Walla Walla, Washington, while also continuing the massive Post Malone and Jelly Roll Present: The BIG ASS Stadium Tour Part 2, which picks up again tonight in Cleveland.

He has stayed busy musically, too. Since releasing Beautifully Broken and its expanded edition in 2024, Jelly Roll has kept moving through high-profile collaborations with Latto, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Carín León. This latest single feels like another step in that run, but one with a little more of his heart showing.
