John Summit’s new album feels like the sound of an artist pushing harder and aiming wider. As his second full-length release, it carries a little more weight, and you can feel that in how confidently it moves. The production hits with force, the bigger moments land the way they should, and the whole project feels built for speakers, crowds, and long nights that do not let up easily.
A big part of what gives the album that extra lift is the guest list. His collaboration with The Chainsmokers stands out as one of the project’s bigger crossover moments, bringing together two names that know exactly how to make a record feel massive without losing its hook. It is the kind of pairing that instantly feels festival-ready.
We were invited to attend his pop-up last with 48 hours notice at Red Rocks in Denver for this album release. We ended up pulling the trigger and made the flight just for the show. Below was what we experienced first hand.
Then there is the Devault collaboration featuring Julia Church, which feels like one of the emotional centerpieces of the album. That one has real anthem energy to it, the sort of song that is made to hit in a field full of people all yelling the words back at once. You can already hear it becoming one of those unifying live moments we will be singing as one at a festival near you. You can watch the music video below to take how magical this track really is.
What helps the album work is that it does not just rely on scale. Yes, there are heavy hitters all over it, but the sequencing and variety keep it from feeling flat or repetitive. Summit still knows how to make records that connect immediately, but here he sounds even more in control of how those moments are built and when to let them explode.
More than anything, this feels like a statement. John Summit is operating on a bigger level now, and this album sounds like he knows it.
