Aaron Hibell has reworked Phantogram‘s “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore”, out October 30, 2026 via Republic Records alongside a 10th-anniversary reissue of the duo’s album Three. The song was the album’s lead single, Hibell has called it his all-time favorite Phantogram track, and his version drags it into the wide, cinematic electronic world he has been building all year.
Three first arrived October 7, 2016 and debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200. The anniversary edition comes on limited Smoky Sky Blue vinyl with an alternate metallic foil cover, plus a brand new Dolby Atmos mix of the album. Looking back a decade later, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter are open about where the record came from.
“We made this album over six months in Echo Park during one of the heaviest periods of our lives.” – Phantogram
The original ran on fuzzed-out swagger, built around a chopped sample of Eddie Bo‘s “Hook and Sling (Part I)” with Carter producing alongside Ricky Reed. Hibell keeps Barthel’s vocal at the center and builds a driving groove and a lot of open space around it. It feels like the song walking out of a smoky bar and onto an open-air stage right as the sun drops. Bigger, brighter, and still a little haunted.
It caps a huge run for Hibell. His debut album SYNCHRONICITY landed March 6, he took it across North America on his first headline tour, and we caught up with him at Terminal West in Atlanta along the way (read our interview here). Next up he plays Dreamstate Vancouver at TradeX in Abbotsford, BC on November 28. Phantogram are keeping the anniversary going too, with a Beatport remix competition for album opener “Funeral Pyre” open until December 4.
