Wiz Khalifa put “Yiccen” out on September 3, 2026, a solo cut he made in his hometown of Pittsburgh with longtime producers Sledgren and Bardex. It doubles as the opening move for Cool Azz Summer, an EP he has announced without pinning a date to it yet.
The song sits exactly where Wiz Khalifa is most comfortable. The flow is unhurried, the production underneath it is darker and wavier than you would expect, and there is a lot of empty room left for his voice to move around in. It sounds like the same warm, smoke-clouded summer register he has been refining for more than a decade, pulled a few shades further into the dark. Apple Music gave it the New Music Daily cover and sat him down with Zane Lowe to talk it through.
The single lands in the middle of the busiest stretch he has had in years. Khaotic and Girls Love Horses are already out. The Roofless Records For Drop Tops series has kept rolling with Curren$y. Machine Gun Kelly got a whole joint tape out of him with blog era boyz. “Yiccen” reads like a way to keep that run warm while Cool Azz Summer comes together.
