Major Lazer spent months playing this one at people without telling them what it was. “RoTATe” landed July 31, 2026 on Mad Decent, filed under its full stylised name, “RoTATe wiTh aMeRiCa FOsTeR, sKiLLiBeNg aNd bEAM”, with America Foster out front and Skillibeng and BEAM either side of her.
The bones of it are an interpolation of Puppah Nas-T and Denise Belfon’s “Work”, which is a big swing, and it pays off. It feels like someone kicked the door off a dancehall party and dragged the whole room into the present. Frenetic, sweaty, and completely unbothered.
Crowds in Paris, Mexico City and Seoul had already folded into it before most people knew its name. The video is a straight dance piece built around the Lazer Gyals, the group’s live dancers, choreographed by Sara Bivens and Calvit Hodge.
