Zach Bryan is back, and he did not travel light. With Heaven On Top is out today. Twenty-five tracks. Seventy-eight minutes. Twenty-four songs and one spoken poem, all of it written and produced by Bryan alone. For someone who mostly stepped back last year, that is a lot of record to return with.
The size is the point. There are no co-writers here and no outside producer, and it feels like a man emptying a notebook rather than assembling a tracklist. It sprawls, it wanders, and it lands hardest in the quiet stretches. At 78 minutes that is a real risk. It is also the least guarded he has ever sounded.
Bryan spent most of last year off the road recalibrating, and the album carries that year inside it. Sobriety and marriage reshaped the stretch behind it, and the writing sounds like someone who finally stopped bracing for impact. It arrives on Belting Bronco Records through Warner Music Group with almost no rollout at all. He announced it on Instagram with a disclaimer instead of a campaign: “Hope you don’t hate it.”

The live half starts in March. With Heaven On Tour puts him in stadiums for 39 shows between St. Louis and Auburn, with a European leg in the middle that runs through Berlin, Oslo, Copenhagen, Liverpool, and Belfast. Support rotates the whole way, and the guest list is stranger and better than a stadium run usually gets. Kings of Leon. Alabama Shakes. MJ Lenderman, Dijon, Caamp, Gregory Alan Isakov, Trampled by Turtles, and Ben Howard filling in across the run.
