The Chainsmokers have officially released LOVE IS KIND, a five-track EP that brings Oaks back into the center of their world in a much bigger way. While the duo and Winona Oak already had history, this project feels more complete, more focused, and more emotionally locked in than a one-off collab run.
What makes the EP click is the way it is built around her. From “ECHO” and “ALREADY KNOW” to the title track and “WILD,” the whole release leans into Oaks’ voice and the story running through it, giving the songs a little more shape and heart than your average dance-pop drop.
There is also something refreshing about how intentional it sounds. The Chainsmokers clearly wanted these songs to carry emotion while still feeling fun enough to bring into their sets, and that balance comes through across all five tracks. LOVE IS KIND feels like a project with real chemistry behind it, not just a pairing that happened to work once.
“Winona fell in love since we had last saw her and that has fueled the story behind all these songs. We wanted to keep that story and her mesmerizing voice in the center of this project and build a world around it with the production. Our only criteria was to make sure it would be extremely fun to play in our set. It was therapeutic to work within those self-inflicted parameters. The result has been beautiful.”
