Martin Garrix and U2 put a visual to “Fireflies” on August 21, 2026, and it goes exactly where the song was already pointing. A midnight forest. Fireflies swarming around Garrix. Then Bono surfacing in silhouette out of the swarm. It feels patient, wide open, and slightly unreal, which is how the record sounds too.
The partnership keeps finding new rooms to sit in. Garrix produced “Scars” on U2’s EP Easter Lily, which put him inside the band’s own record. “Fireflies” ran it the other way and brought the band into his.
It lands in a stretch where Garrix keeps turning up beside enormous names. He worked with Madonna on “Bizarre” for her newest album, premiering it across a three night run at Barclays Center in New York. In May 2026 he and Ed Sheeran finally let “Repeat It” go.
