Kygo returns with another tune built for summer. The new single with Max McNown pairs bright synth work with a steady, upbeat percussion section that keeps the whole thing moving without ever feeling rushed. The piano sets the tone while the live guitar work drives it home.
Max brings the heart. His vocal has a wholesome, lived-in quality that gives the track real warmth and keeps the production from floating too far into the clouds. Kygo, meanwhile, does what he does best, shaping emotion into something light on its feet and easy to come back to.
There is also a familiar spirit running through it. Kygo has a way of carrying forward the melodic optimism that made Avicii’s music feel so permanent, not by copying it, but by honoring the same belief that dance music can still sound human.
