Some collabs just make too much sense. Khalid and Lauv have officially joined forces on “Tied Up,” a smooth, emotionally open new single that leans into the tension between wanting closeness and not quite knowing where things stand.
The release plays right into both of their strengths. Khalid brings that warm, reflective tone he has always carried so naturally, while Lauv adds his own vulnerable edge, giving the song a push and pull that feels honest instead of overly polished. The production stays understated, which lets the writing do the heavy lifting.
What makes this one hit even more is the timing. “Tied Up” arrives just before Khalid’s It’s Always Summer Somewhere tour, where Lauv will also be joining him on the road, giving the collab an even bigger life beyond the studio version.
For a first track together, this one feels easy in the best way. No forced moment, no overthinking, just two artists who know how to make feelings sound good.
