James Hype and Tita Lau have played together long enough that the chemistry is a given by now. “Action” is the studio version of what those sets already sound like. Tech house, no detours.
It runs on a relentless groove and the deep, driving bassline Hype builds nearly everything on. Tita Lau’s vocal is gritty and rhythmic rather than pretty, and that is what turns a functional club track into one that follows you home. It feels engineered for the back half of a set, when the BPM is up and nobody is looking for a breather.
It has already been through Tomorrowland and the Ibiza rooms, which is where these two work out what actually lands. It arrives on his STEREOHYPE imprint.
