Elderbrook has announced Heart on a Wire, his fourth studio album, arriving January 22, 2027 via Counter Records, a Ninja Tune label. It runs ten tracks with Rules and Tourist each stepping in on two of them, and the new single “Lost in the View” is out now to open the era, alongside the first leg of a North American tour.
The album took four years to come together, and it started with an overheard conversation. At an art festival near Miami in late 2022, Elderbrook caught a stranger talking about reconnecting with a more childlike version of herself. That idea became the thread through the whole record: the curiosity and openness of being a kid, and what it takes to find that way of seeing again as an adult.
“Lost in the View” sounds like that idea set to music. It is warm, unhurried, and a little wide-eyed, with his soft vocal floating over a groove that feels made for the space between the club and a pair of headphones at 2 a.m. Where his recent run leaned toward the dancefloor, this one lets the song breathe and wander.
“I wanted to approach the album more from an indie music point of view, following ideas wherever they led and letting the songs take shape naturally.” – Elderbrook
The timing works in his favor too. “Inner Light,” his 2021 track with Bob Moses, landed in the extended Grand Theft Auto VI trailer and went to #1 on Shazam’s US Top 200, which put a whole new wave of listeners onto his catalog. This chapter has Rules all over it too, featuring on “Without You” and the summer single “Staring at the Sun,” and Rules joins him on the road as support.
Leg one of the Heart on a Wire Tour runs from Ottawa on March 18 to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on April 3, with Arlo and Rules supporting every night and Mindchatter added at Red Rocks. Presale opens October 20, 2026 at 10 a.m. local time, with general on-sale October 23. Ten songs, eleven cities, one very open-hearted era.
