Chase & Status released their album Generic Everything on October 9, 2026 through 2RUFF Records and Warner Music UK, and track three is the place to start. “Carnage” puts Saul Milton and Will Kennard in a room with Little Simz, and Jack Saunders gave it its premiere on BBC Radio 1’s New Music Show.
The detail worth knowing before you press play is that the huge choir swelling underneath the track is one person. Milton explained during the premiere that it’s Little Simz on her own, layered again and again until it sounds like a full church section standing behind her verse.
Chase & Status produced it with Alex Naim and BREN, and it sounds built for the rooms they’re heading into: heavy low end, a stomping pulse, and Simz cutting straight through the middle with that cool, unhurried delivery. When the choir lifts behind her, it feels like the whole crowd joining in.
“She was amazing to work with in the studio, really pro. Jumped up, put this like amazing kind of backing vocals, sort of choiry layered thing.” – Will Kennard
Generic Everything is the duo’s push back against sameness, ten tracks with guests like J Hus, Skrillex, Giggs and D Double E, all built around the cube they use as a symbol for creative pressure. “Carnage” feels like the clearest version of that idea. The era heads into arenas next, with the Generic Everything Live World Tour starting February 18, 2027 at Atlas Arena in Łódź, Poland and taking in two nights at The O2 in London.
