BigXthaPlug has released BETTER OVER TIME, an 18-track album out October 30, 2026 via 600 Entertainment under exclusive license to UnitedMasters. It is the Dallas rapper’s step back into hip-hop after the country turn of I Hope You’re Happy in August 2025, and the guest list runs deep: Leon Thomas, Ava Max, Ro$ama, Belly Gang Kushington, Babyface Ray, Lil Yachty, Loe Shimmy, GloRilla and Fridayy.
The rollout started with “LITE” featuring Belly Gang Kushington on September 18. The album itself was announced on September 26 with a short trailer full of flashes from his upbringing, “BURN” with Ava Max followed on October 9, and release day brought an official video for “I LIKE IT” with Loe Shimmy.
The singles set the tone. “LITE” runs on bass-heavy Southern production with a little soul underneath, while “BURN” pulls in Ava Max and shows he is still happy to cross lanes on a rap record. The tracklist reads like a mood board on its own: “STAND ON BUSINESS,” “DOUBTED ME,” “LATELY F RAP.” It feels heavy, defiant, and a little more personal than the size of that feature list suggests.
Back in February he told Complex he had something to prove in hip-hop after his country success, and this is the record that answers it. In April he landed the cover of Rolling Stone’s Future of Music issue, and he keeps the run going as Saturday’s headliner at DUSK Music Festival at Jácome Plaza in Tucson on November 14.
