I have been a hardcore fan of Drew Love for years. Everything he touches, he turns literally to gold. This time swerve from that lane as he glides over the already incredible production. His voice brings the right kind of soul to the record, adding a sense of longing that keeps the whole thing from floating off beat heaven. It was one of those songs that cross over EDM was built on. Meant to be performed live under the stary night.
What makes “looking for someone” work is that it does not force the feeling. Louis The Child let the mood build naturally, keeping the production clean, weightless, and just textured enough to make the emotion stick. It is the sort of track that catches you in between moments and ends up staying there.
