Tame Impala Lets the Night In on “Dracula”

Tame Impala’s “Dracula” feels like Kevin Parker doing what he does best. Taking something a little strange, a little theatrical, and turning it into a song you somehow want to live inside. The track leans into darkness without feeling heavy. He uses that title almost like a mood board for isolation, desire, and the weird comfort of disappearing from the daylight for a while.

What makes it hit is the way it moves. There is a glossy pulse under it, a little disco, a little late-night shimmer, and that familiar Tame Impala haze hanging over everything like smoke in slow motion. It sounds playful on the surface, but there is still something lonely tucked underneath it, which is usually where Parker’s songs land the hardest.

That tension is what gives “Dracula” its bite. It is catchy, sure, but it also feels slightly unwell in the best possible way, like dancing through a spiral and looking good while doing it. Tame Impala has always been great at making inward feelings sound huge, and this one keeps that streak alive.
