ZHU at The Eastern was one of those nights where the production felt just as important as the music.
The live singing immediately changed the feel of the room, giving the set more soul than a standard DJ performance. Then came the live drums, which added another layer of pressure and made the heavier moments hit even harder.
And they hit hard.
The bass was the kind that rattled your rib cage. You could feel it in your chest, in the floor, and somehow still in your body the next morning. Pair that with the lighting and stage production and the whole room kept shifting between dark, cinematic, and completely explosive.
ZHU also knew exactly where he was. He rinsed the crowd with Outkast and other Atlanta classics throughout the night, and every time one came in, The Eastern erupted. It gave the set a local pulse without ever feeling forced.
Then, after making everyone wait for it, he finally gave us “Faded” at the end of the night.
Perfect way to close it.
The singing, the drums, the bass, the Atlanta moments, and the production all came together into one of those shows where the energy does not disappear when you walk out the door.
You still feel it the next day.
