Summer is having one hell of a HUGEL. The French DJ and producer continues to break records and set new pace for the ever elusive EDM top charts. Today he announced that he has landed the cover of DJ Mag’s second 2026 Ibiza edition while simultaneously holding the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on Shazam’s global chart.
The milestone arrives in the middle of HUGEL’s massive summer on the White Isle, where he currently hosts his Make The Girls Dance residency every Thursday at Hï Ibiza. It’s a full-circle moment for the Marseille-born artist, who once vowed he wouldn’t even set foot on Ibiza until he had earned the chance to perform there.
Now, he’s one of the island’s marquee residents.
HUGEL’s latest run also follows the release of his debut album, Twenty One, featuring collaborations with Snoop Dogg, David Guetta, French Montana and more. He launched the album in Ibiza with a massive Ushuaïa-to-Hï doubleheader.
And the records continue to connect far beyond the island.
HUGEL recently revealed that two of his songs simultaneously reached No. 1 and No. 2 on Shazam’s worldwide chart, making them the two most-Shazamed songs on the planet. Those songs are, “Movin’ To The Sun” and “Jamaican (Bam Bam)”.
“Behind these numbers are years of sacrifice, doubts, failures, hard work, and an endless love for music,” HUGEL shared while celebrating the achievement.
Twenty-one years after taking his first DJ course in Cannes, HUGEL’s journey has taken him from Marseille to one of dance music’s biggest stages. And right now, few artists are having a bigger summer.
