Swedish House Mafia and Lykke Li team up on the undeniable song of the summer, “Happiness Is So Sad.” This track lives at the intersection where instant joy crashes head-on with nostalgia. The glistening summer sun learned its ways from this record. A powerful rhythm with fragments of heartache keeping it whole.
Recorded in Stockholm, the song was produced by Swedish House Mafia, PARISI, and Fred again.., with Max Martin and Oscar Holter also helping shape the writing. Lykke Li gives the record its emotional pull. Her voice drifts through the production with a soft ache, while Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso keep the rhythm climbing underneath her.
The single has already become a standout during the group’s Ushuaïa Ibiza residency. It arrives just ahead of their biggest hometown concerts yet, two nights at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg.
