Kai Wachi – DUKKHA EP [Out Now]

Named after the Buddhist term for suffering, Dukkha marks another evolution in Kai Wachi‘s fast-rising career. The title track is a collaboration with LA-based producer LUMBERJVCK and it is a monstrous trap/dubstep hybrid. “RCGNZE” is just as impressive. After an extended intro of massive synths and pitched-around microsamples, Kai brings on YLTI who drops a memorable verse on what should become another hybrid classic.

Excision & The Frim – Night Shine Ft. Luciana

Joining forces with emerging talent The Frim, bass megastar Excision drops his new single “Night Shine”. Out on Excision’s very own Rottun Records today, it packs power with little breaks of musicality in-between. Edit-laden riffs are channelled on the drop with tough drums and intense melodies laced throughout. Luciana’s vocal workout adds a little extra something to the beats. This is a seriously high impact offering from the duo, and hopefully it won’t be their last collaboration.

Skrillex Selects 11/7 (Ft. The M Machine, Crookers, RL Grime, Cashmere Cat & More)

After a brief hiatus (where I picked up the slack), Skrillex returns with this week’s selections. I gotta give Sonny props for discovering O.T. Genasis‘ “CoCo,” the last track on this set. The song is offiially out Monday and you can expect a reminder post then, but this has the potential to go BIG. It’s so.. whack, but there’s just something about it… Clearly people agree since it’s rec’d about 350K views on YouTube in less than a month.
