The talented Swede, Sebastian Mikael, drops off a cover to Adele’s Chasing Pavements. The B&W visuals were shot down in Miami and looks awesome compared to the dismal, Northeast weather right now.
Ivy League: Kick Back is the upcoming mixtape from G.O.O.D. Music’s CyHi The Prynce that will be released January 29th. The melody in the chorus is sampled from Sound of Music’s 1959 classic Favorite Things in which CyHi adds an urban twist in his rendition. What I’m confused about in this song though is I thought CyHi was signed to G.O.O.D. Music under Def Jam, and his boy says to CyHi Fuck Def Jam Doe. CyHi has been with G.O.O.D. Music since the beginning and we really haven’t heard much from him compared to other artists in the camp, i.e. Big Sean, Common, Pusha T, etc. Could there be some frustration? We shall see.
This video is a mini movie and the soundtrack starts at 1:09.
Latest Epic/Slin-N-Slide/Vested In Culture signee Sebastian Mikael releases his latest single Take Me Higher. He was formerly known as De-Lor, but has now turned to the next chapter in his career and with that came a name change. This is a pop-ier sound than we are used to hearing from Sebastian but I dig it, I dig it a lot!
Sebastian had recently caught the ear of LA Reid [X-Factor judge and music mogul] and had placed Sebastian under the Sony umbrella signing Sebastian to Epic. Also taking notice and getting a piece of the action is Sylvia Rhone who heads Vested In Culture, which is under the Epic umbrella. Sylvia Rhone was former President of Motown Records and has also overseen the careers of Drake, Stevie Wonder, and Akon. So with all of these people backing Sebastian’s talent equates to a great formula to success if Sebastian keeps up with the talent and doesn’t allow for Hollywood to eat him alive.
Keep on the lookout for more music from Sebastian in the near future as he will be hitting the road running! If you are in the CT/MA area he will be performing alongside White Panda Dec 28th (Foxboro, MA) and Dec. 29th (Hartford, CT at Toads Place). After the jump are HD visuals for his recent performance at Converse’s Rubber Track Studios.
The pussification of America continues. Today we find out that an anti-soda group is urging Beyonce to drop her endorsement deal with Pepsi and the $50 million attached to it. The anti-soda group is saying soda is associated with child obesity because of the sugar contents contained within these soft drinks. What ever happened to parents doing their job of educating their children about nutrition? Diapers and Similac [2 Chainz voice] are expensive maybe this group can pick up the tab for those. Just a thought.
Last week Kid Ink posted a teaser for the visuals of Hell & Back (Remix). Today the final product arrives and it doesn’t disappoint. Hell & Back (Remix) was featured on Kid Ink’s latest project RocketshipShawty which released just prior to Thanksgiving, and the original being released on Kid Ink’s album release back in June Up & Away. This has to be my favorite song off of the whole project. The reasoning behind that bold statement is that MGK and Kid Ink had a tumultuous rise to get to their current position. And the visuals complement the concept perfectly. Never give up on your dreams!
