Hayk is a 22 year old artist based out of Watertown, MA. He immigrated to the United States when he was 2 years old, being born in Istanbul. His family had escaped the Armenian Genocide from the Ottoman Empire in 1915. They had sought refuge in Istanbul, where his parents were born and eventually where Hayk was born. Hayk’s birthday is April 24th, the day of the Armenian Genocide and from great pain came light through the birth of Hayk. To symbolize the tragedy they named him Hayk, which means king in Armenian.

Hayk had written music since he was 14 years old. And when he was 19 he had made his first mix tape. When he was about to push that project, he had gotten jumped in downtown Boston which had left Hayk with a metal plate in his jaw. Just recently Hayk had gotten pushed back into music, and here is his first release called A Sad Song. The premise behind A Sad Song is that even though through bad situations, true warriors will prevail. This song was produced by EVO Productions (credits: Chris Webby, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, etc.) and collaborating on the track is the hidden gem of Boston, dFresh. dFresh engineers a lot of great underground artists from Boston including Fist In The Air sponsored artist Gio Dee.
