Is is wrong that I’m excited for what this could do for them artistically? Because I can only listen to how rich they are for so long…I’m ready for more hood rat shit for sure.

In what the Atlanta Police Department deems to be untrue, there were apparently several reports of gunfire being shot in the parking lot of the Atlanta Civic Center during a taping of the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards on Saturday, which was sparked by a backstage fight between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy.

With that said, part of me wonders if this could be a publicity stunt. ESPECIALLY when the APD is saying those reports “appear to be untrue.” I mean, why not create a little controversial buzz before the BET Hip Hop Awards airs on Oct. 9, at 8pm, right?

Although Swedish House Mafia has been sending my Google Alerts AND my brain into overdrive lately, I’ve come to terms with it, because everything makes sense now.

Shortly before Steve Angello and fellow Swedish House Mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso announced the tracklisting for One Last Tour’s Until Now compilation–which will be available to buy in the U.S. on Oct. 22–Angello opened up to the Huffington Post about the Swedish trio’s pending split…

…and about what irks him. It’ great stuff.

The interview is long and occasionally rambling, but makes sense of all the noise that’s been swarming SHM lately. It also seems to be centered around two things: Big business and bigots.

I was definitely perturbed when I first heard that Skillex was composing the original score for the “Spring Breakers” vacation movie. But then I heard it was indie and continued rolling my cigarette.

It was only after I read the article about EDM going “Hollywood” in The New York Times that I felt my “selling-out”-induced pain start to ease.

Sure, the usual suspects in EDM and dubstep are getting paid $40,000 to $50,000 to license a song for single use in a network television show; and, yeah, they’re getting bookoo bucks to the tune of $150,000 to $250,000 to do one song in a film–ONE…but, it’s not EXACTLY easy money.

The hip hop community is abuzz right now, wondering whether or not Gucci Mane has lasered off his unfortunate ice cream tattoo.

The rumor was sparked by a Twitter conversation between AllHipHop.com’s CEO Chuck Creekmur and AllHipHop.com’s Senior Staff Writer and Associate Content Editor Biba Adams, so you know right off the bat that something’s a little fishy. One day after that conversation happened, the site published the rumor story about Gucci possibly getting his tattoo slowly lasered off.
