And the wait is finally over! With several drops prior to the release, I had no initial doubts about the quality of Trey’s new mixtape. In all seriousness, the unreleased tracks blew my mind. I’ve literally been struggling for days now to pick out my two favorite. Prepare to have your high expectations met.
Having had the luxury of hearing Shwayze perform “Love Is Overrated” live at BEACHGLOW one week ago, I have been beyond ecstatic for this release day. Though most tracks Shwayze puts out are hits, with the flawless production from the very talented Paul Couture, this is sure to be an instant favorite. “Love Is Overrated” is one of the catchiest tunes out, so purchase it, turn it up, and just “fu** tonight”!
Born and raised in NYC’s Upper West side, Luke Pascal began his DJ career when he was just fifteen. After doing some small shows around the city, Luke paired up with his good friend and now partner, Boogie Dash. Boogie and Luke began learning how to make music at DD172 headquarters courtesy of Mr. Damon Dash and co. Finally, famed record producer, Damon Dash, presented an opportunity to throw an event at a popular venue in the city. After thirteen hours of straight promotion, the next night Luke and Boogie threw one of the best parties NYC has ever seen, eventually leading to the venue getting shut down by the mayor.
This was the birth of Spontaneous Reaction Records. From there, Chipz Cookies (yes, REALLY GOOD, edible cookies), was born, to add to Luke and Boogie’s movement. With all the success Luke and Boogie have been having in the past few months, it’s clear they’re headed to the top.
Expect many more remixes from Luke including artists such as: Cobra Starship, Swedish House Mafia, Krista, and Twondon. Make sure to keep a look out for Chipz Cookies now available in Fairway and your ears open for Luke’s EP: Arecibo due out this month!
Following IanJ’s large success of his most recent EP: Landmine, he continues to provide us with hits. This time, he takes on one of my personal favorites, Taylor Swifts “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”!
G-Eazy and Hoodie Allen team up to produce “Lady Killers”, just one of many hits off of G-Eazy’s highly anticipated upcoming album: Must Be Nice. It’s clear these bad boys can do whatever they want to us ladies, and we “should probably get familiar”. Stay tuned for Must Be Nice due to release on September 26th!
