As T-Pain tries to regain his last decade popularity and Lil Wayne continues to battle it out with his label. It looks like the two plan to resurrect their duo known as T-Wayne and finally release their long-awaited debut album.
Taking to Instagram today, T-Pain revealed a sketch portrait of him and Tunechi’s face with a very suspicious caption.
While this could just be some Throwback Thursday antic from the Tallahassee-singer/songwriter/producer. The photo has fans wondering because the sketches are a very recent look of Lil Wayne and T-Pain and the hashtag “TheMissingPageInTheHistoryBook”. The supergroup’s T-Wayne album was patiently awaited by fans for almost a decade as both acts made promises and updates that the album was coming.
T-Pain and Lil Wayne originally announced the formation of the supergroup and album back in 2008. The album was originally slated to be released after Lil Wayne’s 2010 prison stint; however, after Wayne’s release from Rikers nothing ever came to fruition. Back in 2014, T-Pain spoke on the collaboration album, saying, it just wasn’t the right time to release it.
While Lil Wayne is still signed to Cash Money rather he likes it or not, T-Pain is currently independent. The two have a long history of hits together that includes, “Got Money” and the sparked group idea “Can’t Believe It”. This collaboration album is possible with Wayne just releasing a collaborative album with 2 Chainz back in 2016 as the supergroup, Collegrove.
Lil Wayne has promised the release of a couple new projects this year, including the long-awaited, ‘Carter 5’. More as this story develops.
