With the release of their debut album and the first week numbers, Memories… Do Not Open, The Chainsmokers firmly cemented themselves as a some of the most successful mainstream-pop artists around.

Finishing their first week with 221,000 total units moved (of which 166,000 were traditional sales), the album debuted at #1 on Billboard 200 chart, bumping Drake’s More Life playlst to #2.

To put this in perspective to the electronic community, DJ Snake/a>’s debut served 32,000 with Encore<, Flume/a> put in 31,000 with Skin<, Disclosure hit 25,000 and Kygo came through with 17,000.

And for their pop rivals, Rihanna only cracked 15,896 in her first week last year (probably thanks to TIDAL), Rae Sremmurd with 27,000, Young Thug with 37,000, Chance The Rapper with 38,000, Kid Cudi with 49,698, Kanye West with 94,000, DJ Khaled with 95,000 and we’re not even done yet. The haters have been silenced.

In addition, The Chainsomkers’ latest singles “Paris” and “Something Just Like This” featuring Coldplay are both hit Top 10 for Pop airplay.

They’re also aligning this chart-topping success with their massive 40-city arena tour, and you can get tickets here. Congrats guys, and see you on the road.
