Coachella Is Suing Urban Outfitters Over Trademark Infringement
Coachella Music Festival is reportedly suing Urban Outfitters over trademark infringement. In other words they are claiming that Urban Outfitters’ affiliate Free People has allegedly tried to capitalize on the event’s image through branded products with the California-based festival’s name, such as the “Coachella Boot,” “Coachella Mini Dress,” “Coachella Pocket Tank,” and “Coachella Valley Tunic.”
According to Women’s Wear Daily, “Coachella has asked the court for unspecified treble damages and for an order demanding that Urban remove from sale any infringing items and engage in “corrective advertising” to inform consumers that the festival is in no way affiliated with Urban or Free People.”
Hope the 2 sides can work something out!
