‘Get Out’ Star Daniel Kaluuya Compares Himself To J. Cole
“YOU MIGHT BE DRIZZY DRAKE OR KENDRICK LAMAR BUT CHECK YOUR BIRTH DATE NIGGA, YOU AIN’T THE GOD, NAH YOU AIN’T THE GOD…”
– J. Cole, “January 28th”
Jordan Peele’s new horror film, ‘Get Out’ is a runaway box-office smash. While only costing four-million dollars to make, the film has already made over $100 million dollars stateside and earned the comedic actor/director the first black director to have a $100 million directorial debut. Peele isn’t the only person to grand success from the film, lead male, Daniel Kaluuya has been receiving a handful of offers and praise for his performance.
When asked about his performance, the 27-year-old actor relates his character to the distinctive likelyhood of multi-platinum recording artist J. Cole. Kaluuya quotes:
“[Chris] feels like an everyman. He’s kind of like J. Cole. Chris is that guy that everyone knows, who has been in everyone’s class at school. That good guy from around the area.” That is, until [REDACTED], forced Chris to [REDACTED], amirite?”
Daniel Kaluuya is set to co-star along side award-winning actress Viola Davis in the upcoming Steve McQueen Heist Movie, ‘Widows’.
