The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” Breaks Record for Most Weeks in Billboard’s Hot 100 Top Five

Wow. The Chainsmokers may be coming off their biggest collaboration to date, with Coldplay nonetheless, but this news is almost just as huge. Everyone’s favorite EDM duo’s hit song “Closer” just broke the record for most weeks spent on Billboard’s Hot 100 Top Five.

It’s been there for 26 straight weeks now, or 6 months, beating out Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” (2015) and LeAnn Rimes’ “How Do I Live” (1997-1998) which have both spent 25 weeks. Wild, congrats guys!

The Chainsmokers recently released their biggest single to date, “Something Just Like This” featuring legendary Coldplay.

It was the second single released from their forthcoming debut album Memories… Do Not Open, which we now know will be released April 7th. Pre-order the 12-track project now now and get both the Coldplay collaboration and “Paris” instantly.
