Chance The Rapper Is Now Turning Down $10 Million Deals From Labels
Now that Chance The Rapper has proven himself a winner on music’s biggest stage, taking home three Grammys last weekend, label offers are coming in like never before. But Chance is standing his ground, and insists on remaining independent.
According to the New York Post, the self-made man is turning down deals north of $10 million now, almost double the advances he was turning down earlier. A source tells the Post:
“Every label is still trying to get him. He’s making too much on his own … He was turning down $5 million advances before, and now it’s like $10 million.”
Chance is confident he can not only get that money himself, and make even more doing so.
He explained in an interview with Vanity Fair that he makes “money from touring and selling merchandise.”
“And I honestly believe if you put effort into something and you execute properly, you don’t necessarily have to go through the traditional ways.” – Chance The (Independent) Rapper
