Drake’s ‘Summer Sixteen’ Tour Highest Grossing Hip-Hop Tour Ever
Looks like Drake can add another major achievement to his of 2016 accolades and records. For his ‘Summer Sixteen‘ tour with Future spanning 54 stops, Drizzy and the team sold over 750K tickets for a whopping $84.3 million in sales. That’s an average of $112 per ticket.
This puts him at the top of the ever-evolving hip-hop tour list, beating out the past leader of Jay Z and Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ tour which brought in “only” $75.6 mil.
But while this was enough to top hip-hop, he doesn’t even crack the top 10 of 2016, which includes the likes of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Guns N’ Roses, Adele, Justin Bieber, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, The Rolling Stones, and Celine Dion.
Drake took to Instagram to recognize his achievement, and hype his forthcoming European ‘Boy Meets World’ tour with Young Thug, which kicks off Jan. 21st in Amsterdam.
