J. Cole’s ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ Album Debuts At No. 1
J. Cole scores is fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 charts with his latest cut, ‘4 Your Eyez Only.’ And just like last time, he did it all by himself, no features. This means Jermaine is 4/4.
He comes in just shy of half a million first week sales with 492,000 equivalent album sales (includes streams, etc.) of which 363,000 were pure traditional sales. It’s the third-biggest debut of 2016, only behind Drake’s ‘Views’ (duh, 1.04 mil) and Beyoncé ‘Lemonade’ (653K).
‘4 Your Eyez Only’ did earn the second highest streaming debut ever though, trailing behind, you guessed it, only Drake (who just became the first artist to get one billion streams on a single track on Spotify, ever).
While this was his weakest debut to date, he’s still crushing it and the record will likely end up platinum soon, although he may not reach the same featureless, double-platinum status that his last album ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive‘ achieved.
