YG Releases ‘Red Friday’ with New Video “I’m A Thug Pt.2”
With his second LP, Still Brazy stilling moving units since it’s July 2016 release, Def Jam/400 recording artist YG was in a thankful mood over the holidays and as promised release a new project for his fans entitled, ‘Red Friday’.
Red Friday is the first release from the Compton, California recording artist under his new management deal with newly developed agency, Marathon. Upon the new project release, YG held a pop-up shop in Oakland and Los Angeles which involved a meet-n-greet and the opportunity for fans to participate in the “Proud 2 Pay” campaign as YG sold physical copies of his new project for $100. A campaign many may remember from fellow West Coast recording artist Nipsey Hussle with the release of his now classic, 2014 release, ‘Crenshaw’. Nipsey Hussle is also a client with the new Marathon agency.
YG only produced 1400 physical copies and promptly sold out over the weekend. Following the streaming, YG released his new video, “I’m A Thug Pt. 2” in support of the new release. See the new video above.
‘Red Friday’ is a prequel to YG’s third installment in his Just Reup’d series. Red features guest appearances by DJ Mustard’s recording artist RJ, YG-protege Kamaiyah, 21 Savage, and Mitch. Along with “I’m A Thug Pt.2”, the project includes latest release, “I Be On”, and “One Time Comin'”. YG announces Just Reup’d 3 at the beginning of Red Friday on the track, “Public Service Announcement”.

While originally scheduled to be released last Friday, Red Friday was leaked the night before (Thursday) and YG took to twitter to voice his frustration with his primary suspects behind the leak, his recording label, Def Jam.
Over the weekend, YG cussed out his label via twitter with the following tweets:
It has yet to be confirmed if Def Jam was responsible for the premature leak of ‘Red Friday’. YG is featured on newly reunited best friend’s DJ Mustard’s new album, ‘Cold Summer’ alongside Ty Dolla $ign, Jeremih, Nicki Minaj, Nipsey Hussle, and so many more.
YG is currently on his F*ck Donald Trump Tour with opening acts Kamaiyah, Sad Boy, and 10 Summer’s RJ.
