Young Thug Launches YSL Records, Inks New Deal with 300
Branching out as not only a hitmaking recording artist, Young Thug adds label head to his arsenal as he has just announced he signed a imprint deal with his longtime distribution home 300 Entertainment and introduces his very own YSL Records.
YSL is an abbreviation for Young Stoner Lifestyle, Thugger made the official announcement on Snapchat inside the new YSL office space and featured in the chat was 300 head hancho, Lyor Cohen. “Stoner” is Young Thug’s original breakout hit back in 2014. Cohen held a speech to the new staff, saying in the following statement:
“The most important thing that I could say to all of you guys, is not whether it’s 300 or YSL,” said Liles. “Look at the guy who committed to us every single day…Always staying 300 with us. Him starting a new venture is going to take us to a different mindset. He’s not just an artist in this particular case.”
With the announcement, many questioned the first act to come out of the new deal; however, one has yet to be confirmed, many have believed that Thug’s latest collaborator Duke is the first signee to YSL. Thug and Duke recently released a track together, “Webbie”.
