Surprise! Gucci Mane & Future Reunite On New Mixtape, ‘Free Bricks: Zone 6 Edition’
Gucci Mane is back to his old ways… Releasing a ton of music at a moments notice. Many may not remember but before being locked away, Gucci and fellow Atlanta recording artist, Future dropped a collaboration mixtape back in 2011 titled, ‘Free Bricks’. Gucci at the time was the biggest thing in Atlanta, while Future was still on the rise as a future superstar.
Fast forward, both acts equally important to the City of the Hawks come together once again and add a second volume to their mixtape series with the surprise release of the new six-track mixtape, ‘Free Bricks: Zone 6 Edition‘.
According to Gucci, this new project was developed and completed a day ago. Gucci explains in a interview shortly after the release of the second installment.
“Last night, me and Future met up in Atlanta, we ditched our entourages, we didn’t book my usual studio, or his usual studio… It’s like we knew we wanted to fly under the radar. There was like this positive competition in the room. I’d hear him go in on a verse, and I knew I had to step up.”
Gucci continues to discuss the success behind the new project is the amazing chemistry the two ATLiens have with one another. He further explains:
“He would say the same back, and we knocked out 6 songs so crazy that I knew we couldn’t just sit on it. We talked about recording some more, adding more songs. But I didn’t want to over think it or over plan things. Even Future didn’t think we were dropping this tonight. This is the freshest it can get. These joints ain’t even 24 hours old. That’s like bringing you in the studio with us.”
Since being released from Prison back in May, Gucci has already delivered two brand new studio albums with ‘Everybody Looking’ and his recent 13-track release, ‘Woptober’. His third solo effort of the year will be available for download in the coming weeks in the name of, ‘The Return Of East Atlanta Santa ‘.
In 2016 alone, Gucci Mane has been in the studio with everyone; Kanye West, Drake, Outkast, and many more.
Also don’t forget the rumored Gucci Mane/Drake mixtape that is “supposedly” in the works. Remember Drake was one of the first artists to reach out to Gucci and get him on the feature upon the day he was released.
