[Boom]: What inspired you to make music and to be an artist?
[Tony Dreams]: Other people’s music inspires me to make music. Whether it’s a mainstream, indie or underground artists. Hearing other creatives tell their stories through their music is the most inspiring thing to me. The level of relatability other artists have in their music inspires me to be an artist. Being able to express my thoughts, emotions, and things I’m going through in my life and having listeners that relate to that inspires me to be better with every song.
Who influenced your sound and style?
My sound is a mix of everything from 90s to current Hip Hop & R&B. I like to refer to my sound as New Age R&B because it has the smoothness of R&B fused with the always evolving hip hop scene. My style is influenced by artist like Jeremih, PartyNextDoor, Trey Songz, Omarion, Drake, & Big Sean.
What are you currently working on?
Lately I’ve been working on releasing a project in early 2017, probably an EP. I’ve got a good amount of it completed just making sure it’s cohesive and master my sound. My next single is titled “Windows” and will be released in November!
Are you doing any shows?
I don’t have any shows scheduled I’ve been locked in the studio trying to build my catalogue but once I release the project I plan to hit the shows hard so stick with me into 2017!
What is the hardest thing in life you had to overcome and how did you overcome it?
The hardest thing I’ve had to overcome so far in my life was the decision to make my music career my life! I always knew that I had an incomparable love for music and a natural talent for writing. Making the decision to tell my parents that I wasn’t going to college with no plan on how to get into the music industry took a lot of courage. I could never see myself doing anything but creating and entertaining for the rest of my life. I love expressing myself through my music & I don’t think that you should use your life doing anything other than what you love to do.
Where do you see your brand and career in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years I see myself touring, hopefully internationally! Also collaborating and writing for a lot of artists from different genres. I also see myself getting introduced to acting in the film and television industry.
