Vic Mensa Premieres Intensely Powerful New Video, “16 Shots”
Exclusively premiered on Tidal, Roc Nation-signee Vic Mensa presents his intensely-powerful politically charged stand against police brutality new music video, “16 Shots”.
The video depicts the 21-year-old Chicago-bred recording artist encounter and enduring multiple different retold true events of untold victims of police violence. Mensa endures these horrific crimes and rises with an emotionally charged protest tactic, encouraging change and move forward for justice. Throughout the video, Mensa is beaten to death, teased to death, and shot to death by police. The video also complete with the 2015 released dash cam footage of a Chicago man being murdered in cold blood by Chicago Police.
Vic Mensa released the visual several days after two-year anniversary death of Chicago-native Laquan McDonald in order to pay homage to the untimely death. McDonald was murdered after being shot 16-times by Police in October 2014. McDonald’s death was the inspiration behind Vic Mensa creating the Papi Beatz-produced single.
Mensa took to twitter to with a message of remembrance and encouragement to continue to seek justice. Below, Vic Mensa tweets:
