Kid Cudi Checks Into Rehab for Depression and Suicidal Urges
After delaying his album, Kid Cudi took to Facebook to announce checked himself into rehab for depression and suicidal urges. He relayed this information in a very personal post, saying plainly:
“I am not at peace.”
The Kid goes on to tell of the ‘violent storm’ raging inside of him, shamefully admitting that he had reached a breaking point, realizing that he has never been at peace.
“I haven’t been since you’ve known me,”
Cudi said, getting very personal with his audience. He admits to feeling ashamed to be a leader and hero, and says that he feels as though he has been ‘living a lie.’ The details aren’t pretty, even as he so eloquently exposes himself to be unwell, damaged.
The self-characterization is more blatant and direct than the messages Kid Cudi has been sending through his music for years, though these sentiments can be traced back through his music. ‘Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven‘ had Cudi sounding like a suffering and suicidal Kurt Cobain.

Cudi should be reminded of the words of his old friend Ye when he said, ‘name one genius that ain’t crazy.’ Crazy genius epitomizes Kid Cudi, and the title of his new album eerily says it all. ‘Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin‘ is still on the way, according to Kid Cudi.
